Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

This is the term for campaigns that will improve your search rankings in Google.

Firstly, you select the keywords that you want to target, and then you change parts of your website to optimize for these keywords. 

For example, if you are selling furniture, you may target keywords such as cheap beds and coffee tables.

After a few months, your website could then be one the first 10 search results when a user types one of these keywords into Google.  This can get you hundreds, or even thousands of new customers.

It is very important to target the correct keywords.  The competition is so strong for some keywords, that it’s not possible to achieve a top 10 ranking for them.  Therefore any investment on them would be wasted.

Some keywords also convert much better than others.  People searching a general keyword like “ipod” are less likely to buy than people searching a specific phrase like “Black ipod nano 8GB”.

The more specific phrases will convert more browsers into buyers, and they face much less competition.  Therefore it’s very important to target the correct keywords.  We have a number of specialist tools to help us do this for you.
